Striker scores three against Fortuna Sittard

FC Utrecht striker Bas Dost was full of praise for team-mate Gyrano Kerk after the 23-year-old scored a hat-trick in the 3-0 win over Fortuna Sittard on Sunday.

"He's a great player," said Dost. "He's always dangerous in front of goal and he showed that again today with his three goals."

Kerk's hat-trick was his first for Utrecht and it helped the team to move up to fourth in the Eredivisie table.

Driessen impressive in central role

Feyenoord coach Arne Slot praised central defender Lutsharel Geertruida after the 20-year-old helped his team to a 3-2 win over FC Groningen on Sunday.

"He played very well," said Slot. "He's still young but he's developing into a top player."

Geertruida has been a regular starter for Feyenoord this season and he has impressed with his performances.

Akpom comes off the bench to score winner

Middlesbrough striker Chuba Akpom came off the bench to score an injury-time winner in a 2-1 win over Reading on Saturday.

The 26-year-old replaced Andraz Sporar in the 75th minute and he scored the winning goal just two minutes later.

Akpom's goal helped Middlesbrough move up to seventh in the Championship table.
